Where do these chews come from?
In South Central New Mexico, USA we have a healthy population of Rocky Mountain Elk that supply our all-natural product. These bull elk grow a fresh set of antlers every year, naturally shedding them in the spring months. Being scattered throughout the wilderness these antlers are then hand collected by everyday hikers and avid shed hunters.
Here at RidgeLine Antler we personally find some of our own product while the remaining antler is purchased from local residents.
Chew size
You may have noticed that our elk antler chews vary in size, shape, color, and weight. Due to the fact that our product originates from a raw renewable resource, there will be natural reoccurring variations in the chews we hand craft.
When these chews are first harvested one of our craftsman inspects and dissects the elk antler as a whole.
Chews are then created from every part of the antler, leaving little unused. By hand our craftsman
cut, sort, and sand the sharp edges of every chew offered. The shapes and densities of these bones diversify just as the animals that provide them do.
